Prepare sounds
Record from the microphone or import an audio file, then shape the waveform and sound.
Official Manual
TXT sampler / TT-404
Version 1.0
This manual explains how to record sounds, shape samples, build patterns, save projects, and export audio while checking the actual app screens.
01
Getting started
The same basic workflow applies to iPhone and iPad. Blue numbers on screenshots match the numbered explanations beside or below each image. App control labels are shown in English, such as LOAD SAMPLE.
Record from the microphone or import an audio file, then shape the waveform and sound.
Place sounds on a 16-step grid and play them back as a loop.
Save samples, pad settings, sequences, and BPM, then export finished loops as WAV audio.
Tap the pad that should receive the sound. The selected pad name appears in the waveform area.
Choose an audio file. It will be loaded into the currently selected pad.
If the sound plays after loading, the pad is ready.
02
Screen layout
Shows the current project name, help, and settings access.
Shows waveform, sequence, project information, and mode-specific buttons.
Use knobs and switches to shape the selected pad.
Select and play samples. The free plan can use the upper 8 pads in Bank A.
Switch between SAMPLE, SEQUENCE, and PROJECT.
Control BPM, TAP, playback, and stop.
Switch between the three production modes.
Shows the primary controls for the selected mode.
Select and play samples on a 4 x 4 pad grid.
Adjust pitch and filters in SAMPLE mode. In SEQUENCE mode, it controls effects.
Control roll, loop playback, reverse playback, and related pad behavior.
Open playback and stop controls from the bottom of the screen.
| Display mode | Details |
|---|---|
| iPhone dedicated layout | Optimized for iPhone usability and performance. It uses a portrait layout with side and bottom tabs. |
| Scaled iPad layout | Shows the same layout as the iPad version, scaled down to fit the iPhone screen. |
You can choose the display mode on first launch and change it later in Settings > Display Settings.
03
SAMPLE mode
Check the sample name and waveform, then set the playback range with START and END.
Use REC, ADSR, LOAD SAMPLE, DEL SAMPLE, and RESET.
Select the pad you want to edit first.
Adjust pitch, filter, volume, and playback behavior.
The free plan can import audio up to 10 seconds. The Premium plan can import audio up to 60 seconds.
If the destination pad already has a sound, confirming the recording replaces the existing sample.
Move START and END on the waveform to show TRIM. Running TRIM overwrites the sample with the current range.
Duplicate the project first if you need a backup. Pad settings such as pitch and ADSR are kept.
04
SEQUENCE mode
Tap cells to turn steps on or off.
Adjust bar count, Swing, and the selected pad pattern. Use the arrows on the left and right of the grid to move between bars.
Changing pads switches the grid to that pad’s sequence.
Control playback, stop, realtime recording, and quantize.
Changes the overall speed.
Delays even-feel offbeat steps for a swung rhythm.
Records pads you hit while the sequence is playing.
Aligns realtime-recorded hits to the step grid.
BAR+ adds a bar, and BAR- removes the last bar. The free plan is limited to 2 Bars. The Premium plan supports up to 8 Bars.
In SEQUENCE mode, the four knobs work as DIST., DL. TIME, DL. FBK., and DL. LV.
CLEAR clears the sequence for the selected pad.
Tap IMP EXP to choose IMPORT JSON or EXPORT JSON. You can import or export the sequence BPM, Swing, step data, and SAMPLE parameters as JSON.
IMPORT JSON overwrites the current project sequence and SAMPLE parameters. Audio files are not included.
05
PROJECT mode
Shows sample count, missing files, and data size.
Use NEW, COPY, DELETE, and EXPORT WAV.
Pressing a pad in PROJECT moves to SAMPLE and plays that sound.
Play or stop the saved pattern.
A project stores samples, pad settings, sequences, BPM, and related work data.
Create an empty project.
Duplicate the current project. Use it as a backup before editing.
Delete the selected project.
Export the current sequence as a WAV file.
Check the target project carefully before deleting from the list menu or swipe action.
When effects are included, a 2-second tail is added to preserve reverb or delay decay. Without effects, the WAV is exported at the exact sequence length.
WAV export is a Premium feature.
06
Settings
Switch between Display Settings, Pad Settings, Performance Settings, and About.
Choose Light, Dark, or System appearance.
Switch between scaled iPad layout and iPhone dedicated layout.
07

FAQ
Select the destination pad first, then tap LOAD SAMPLE. Check that the file length is within the plan limit.
Allow microphone access for TXT sampler in iOS Settings. Then choose the destination pad and tap REC.
Select the target pad and load the audio again from LOAD SAMPLE.
Connect to the network and run Settings > About > Restore Purchases. Make sure you are using the same Apple Account used for purchase.

Terms and privacy
Shows purchase information and Restore Purchases.
Opens Terms of Use, EULA, and Privacy Policy.
The terms define app usage conditions, prohibited actions, disclaimers, and Premium plan information.
Recorded audio, imported samples, and project data are stored in the app’s local container and are not sent outside the device without user action. When sharing or exporting, the user chooses the destination.

Make the next beat
SAMPLE prepares the sound, SEQUENCE places it in time, and PROJECT keeps the work. These are the basics of TXT sampler.
The default project sounds use CC0-licensed materials published on Freesound.
